So what happens when a nobody falls on his way up the stairs?
Does anyone hear it?
It’s my belief that nobody cares enough to stretch their ears to hear the deep thud.
It’s a hard truth, even when he has something in his hands, his future, his dreams, something tangible that no one else but this nobody could hold, what happens then?
He still falls.
He still curses the world
He blames Nike for making piss poor sneakers
He blames the designer of the stairs for not making them slip-resistant.
He looks down at his squashed dreams, the thoughts and ideas he has just ruined. There is never a moment in his mind where he sees the truth; there is no one to blame but himself. He has shifted his dead weight now to a separate canvas in hopes of trying a new goal, of course this goal just like the 3289547 other ones will end in failure, not because of a lack of commitment, but rather responsibility. If he never stands up and finds the truth, then he will be blind to his largest flaw. His kryptonite, his foil, is nothing more than a lack of perseverance.
He turns around, back facing the former dreams, he will find a new stairwell to climb, something easier where mommy can nurse him along his way. All the while, there will never be growth, his intelligence will continue to lack. He will find friends along his journey but just as with his dreams, he will turn his back on them too.
So as he goes down the steps, he continues to curse his past failures, never admitting that they were all his own fault.
I guess I see things differently, instead of hate I see hope.
I guess I understand things that people don't, instead of a golden paved road, I see the reality of an arduous journey over jagged rocks, this tour lacks the scenery. It lacks a social scene, no nightclubs or bars. This trek is what makes men who they are. On this path, a person will find out who they will become. So look into the mirror and witness your transformation. Thinner and more ruthless, what have you become?
So I ask you dear readers, "Are you prepared for the next step in your life?"
